How do you become a trademark paralegal? Are there courses for this or is there only training in this field?

Question by DC Southern Jaguar: How do you become a trademark paralegal? Are there courses for this or is there only training in this field?
Please tell me courses you can take (if any) and/or where would be a good place to find training (maybe online) if you have no paralegal much less trademark paralegal training at all.

As with any profession, you have to begin with a wider base of practical legal knowledge first. Although a certificate is not required to gain entry into the field, a good way to start is by enrolling in a paralegal certification program. Paralegals become specialists in a particular practice area by virtue of real work experience supplemented by further academic study if appropriate. If you want to fast-track yourself into trademark law, I would suggest that you structure a work-study type program for yourself by finding an entry level position at a small to medium-sized trademark law firm and attending the paralegal classes in the evenings and weekends. Remember to keep your options open, you never know when trademark law will experience a downturn. I wish you the best of luck in a challenging and often rewarding field. **I am a former paralegal (litigation initially then corporate) and a law school grad whose own career has taken many unexpected but pleasant turns.

How does one become a Paralegal Specialist in the Army?

Question by Dave A: How does one become a Paralegal Specialist in the Army?
I have a family member who is thinking about joining the Army to become a paralegal specialist. I am told he scored a 97 out of 99 on some sort of Army aptitude test, and he could have “his choice of job” if he enlisted.

I am trying to find out what is required of an enlisted soldier to become a paralegal specialist, and if they are ever present in war zones and dangerous situations.

Thank you.
